...dedicated to someone special.

Poem Artwork

He sat alone on the deck of his one room beach shack

Drinking wine straight out of a brown paper sack

He watched her walk down the beach with a tear in her eye

She looked up and saw him and he heard her sad sigh

“So why do you cry so, my fair lady so sweet

Do you cry for the past or the sand at your feet?”

There was something about this whiskered wise man

His smile offered caring beneath his wrinkles and tan

She felt she could trust him with feelings unknown

She was grateful for the life line to her he had thrown

“I cry for the love that one day might have been,

for one who mistreated me again and again.”

“I can offer you comfort, a safe port from your storm

Please come in my fair lady, where it’s safe and warm.”

She wiped away teardrops as he offered his hand

She knew, yes she knew, he would understand

She admired his features and she felt he was strong

What harm could it do, how could it really be wrong

“Thank you kind sir I could use a soft seat,

maybe I’ll rest for a while in your cabin so neat.”

“He said they call me skipper but my name is Bill

“She said my name is Angel, though I must look like hell.”

He held the door for her and bid her come in

She stepped in ever so slowly to the surroundings within

He offered his shoulder with his big arms open wide

They soon fell to his bed to lie side by side

Now with a kerosene lamp for sweet soft atmosphere

Her sweet lips on his salty no more did she care

With the lullaby of the ocean singing a serenade for two

Loves own seed was planted, it blossomed and grew

Now Angel lives on the ocean in Bill’s one room shack

She stayed with this stranger and she never looked back

You and Tinka are driving me WILD with your poetry and pics today, Pops!! I have only been inland for 24hours and I'm breaking out in spots and my tongue is hanging out! And this little Angel with a tear-stained face certainly knew which direction to head for when her wings were tattered and torn... what an unbeatable choice! Love and Location!! What Angel could resist? Heaven can wait... !! Strikes a chord with me, Darlin. Love you, Kate xx

Fee this is really lovely. Love on the ocean front is so precious, and the waves singing loves songs in the waves. This is a wonderful tribute to your "someone special", and the picture of the cabin adds flavor. This piece flows very well, and the scenery is as if I was really there seeing all of this. Thank you for sharing this with us.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), sister Barbie
