A dog-eared book discarded face down
concealed verses on page worn and faded
the living spine almost breaks with the
weight of long ago voices now degraded
This book of hurt a treasury of what was
closed on the oblivion of passion’s past
voices read words and a teardrop shared
moisten the dawn like a storm shadow cast
Ah, but spring clouds spray blue tints on white
sun unfolds the horizon like a new morning kiss
the page somehow transforms into a new chapter
words of hope served in lucid amber chaffing dish
our rhythm of love’s yearning denied
sweet nothings on paper still provokes a dream
initials inked in hearts pierced by Cupid’s arrow
in literature, life and love are never as they seem…

are there any real life Harlequin romances...sigh...we all can savor the possibility..."Ah, but spring clouds spray blue tints on white
sun unfolds the horizon like a new morning kiss
the page somehow transforms into a new chapter"....
and the presence of hope lingers within your poem

These lines travel the journey of the heart, from heartache to hope. I love the image of the initials and the hearts. . . it's universal to that spark of first love. Really wonderful. e
Beautiful. It's wonderful when new love springs to life.
