This is one of the flowers I took a picture of in our garden yesterday, it was beautiful but also reminded me how fleeting life is for this beauty lasts only a day or two and is gone...so too is life...

Poem Artwork

The Flower

I saw my love in a flower

Aglow in vivid yellow, dressed in pink

Can I compare my true love to a flower?

It’s easier than you think

Soft and velvet petals like her skin

Exposes pure sunshine subtly to unfold

Deserving to be loved with adoration

Protected and sheltered from wind and cold

Her scent sends out a mystical invitation

Next to her I pale to palest foliage green

She has no idea just how much I love her

More than all the flowers that I’ve seen

Our summer dance to the eastern breeze

Captured seemingly in the blink of an eye

In this flower I found sweet perfection

Until we must breathe that cruel winter’s sigh…

Very sweet and sorrowful at the same time. Tell someone, everyone you know, what it is you appreciate about them at least once or twice a week and you will be surprised at the amount of joy this brings to you.Gets me out of any funk I may have slipped in to. Hugs, J'nia

How lucky is she to be compared to a beautiful flower? And how lucky you are to see her in the beauty that surrounds you. A lovely, romantic verse, Fee, and remember that even winter has its beauty, so perhaps you will see her in the falling snow ~ Hugs, Elizabeth

This can't help but touch the heart for the reader, and I think many of us know what it is like to love someone so much and wish the moments could last much, much longer- forever even. I love that picture, what a pretty flower.

And to think that just days ago the poetry was so dark. I can smell the sweet and delicate fragrance of the rose as you write it.
