His old eyes blurred as he moved a box aside to find

that secret diary that he kept safely stored within his mind

A well thumbed special memory box on his closet shelve sat

hidden but not forgotten behind assorted this and that

all the clandestine love letters, songs and poems gently placed

bits and pieces of their love that could never be erased

Secret dreams that florished in the hearts of two

seeded, nurtured somehow with love it grew and grew

He smiled at the perfect love they now so openly shared

wiped away a falling teardrop, happy tears in his gray/white beard

Returned the diary and the letters to his secret mind spot

secure in his one true  love, his sweet forget me not...

The heart and mind are the two most fertile fields where love can easily seed, root and blossom into the most abundant of trees, giving shelter and food to many. And so often this happens invisibly, moment by moment, even subconsciously... especially so where the love is not openly acknowledged, perhaps. I very much like the idea of this stored-away, precious place, living forever in the now of both past and future, untouched by the passage of time. What strikes me is that your beautiful expression gives voice to the unsaid as much as to the confessed. How tender this write is and how melting when what has been kept perfect in the dark is unveiled in its great beauty to enjoy and live in the light. To be able to enjoy such security must be pure bliss. xx

Always, love is so precious, and this deep love that you speak of in this amazingly poignant poem, is very rare. If one should find this rare type of love, one should embrace it, and be thankful that the Universe as brought the two together!

Much peace, love and light,
Amber
