On My Side of the Wall
By: Fee
You finally locked me out with the last brick
Trowel to mortar, in the secret dark of night
You finished your wall, not a door or window
I am forever banished, exiled from your sight
On the other side of your wall, I face reality
Our love was never enough for you and me
Sealed behind your wall, I blink back my tears
Knowing now, alone, you’re finally walking free
Above stars blink out, the moon fades to black
Tomorrow I’ll be wearing my false face again
No one can ever see, or know, the real lost me
Surviving on my side of your wall, ignoring,
this all-consuming pain…
Great poem, well-expressed.

But you told about it in such a new and vivid way that
I had to live it once again. A gripping read.
