Written in Tanka form...

Poem Artwork

   Winter Whispers

the sun slid downward

slipping past the horizon

tossing up colors

to lay across the new snow

muted afterglow of pinks

~~

like bony fingers

bare branches hug a full moon

on a snowy night

threads of pale yellow moonlight

drizzled down the weathered tree

~~

silver reflections

frozen in winters snowfall

captured in moonlight

touching nature’s sleeping form

when silence falls from the sky

Winter's beautyand bounty. You brought it into perspective with the tanka and gave a good repour to ponder over and consider that we can find beauty in all seasons and all things. God made the world and the things in it for us to enjoy and we should do that more.

Carole, my first review did not reach you -- you painted with great elegance the beauty of a winter sunset upon the fallen snow -- as the moon's rays gently flow down a weathered tree -- this is a magnificent Tanka -- so artistically creative -- much peace and love my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Again, Carole, your tanka has captured and frozen in time the
the wonder, momentary perhaps, of nature's beauty. -gene.

You've captured my back yard. Just a reminder that winter has a sting in its tail but a delicate pen you have has softened the scene and revealed winter's beauty.
