Yes Felix there is more, here it is...The follow up poem to 'Prometheus Unwired', that has had a re-working and is hopefully a little better than the original. Still contains some strong language and imagery though.
Wow Paul!!! I wish that I could think of something meaningful to say in response to this. You are SUCH a talented writer and poet. I envy your ability to express so powerfully. Your poetic voice is also so completely unique. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get in here and review some of your work.

Poet, as a former United States Army Veteran who was in OUR “nuclear weapons program,” and as I began pouring through this well-crafted composition, I just had to re-read this striking piece again and again. I also realized that throughout the entire time, I had chills reverberating through my very being (at least to me that is a good sign). I firmly agree that mankind has taken this what could be easily if misused, a dreadful and very deadly technology to a level unheard of, or even unimaginable just a few short years ago, and if its not kept safely tucked within the silos or under extremely tight wraps, it can simply be the undoing of mankind as we know it to be today.
Hopefully, in the very near future, I will re-post all of my work (with the original reviews) including a poem very similar to this, which I wrote for a challenge by a former respected Author here at AuthorsDen. I titled it: “Call To Arms,” and also used the same picture. Unfortunately I removed my work from my Den due to some unsavory so-called Poets, who were and have plagiarized some of my work and even turned one of my poems into a song, which I have since re-posted it in my Den, which I wrote back in 1974 titled: “Let Your Love Begin,” and then having the audacity to call it their own (but that’s another story).
Far too often, we tend to believe that “we,” meaning the human race, will be our own undoing. I sincerely believe as long as “we,” meaning Poets, Authors and fellow likeminded human beings, who are able to write and keep the pressure on our duly elected officials to keep this powerful technology at bay, “we” shall survive. It is very unfortunate that the former Soviet Union has far too many of their “nuclear weapons” unaccounted for. Let’s hope and pray that these missing weapons are not going to be donated as retaliation against our nation or any other freedom-loving nation, for if they are, “we” are all doomed!
I have taken the liberty to attach the very poem that I wrote for the challenge, in the hope that the combination of your outstanding piece and mine, will ensure everyone will finally understand that once this incredible technology has been unleashed, there will be no winners! Take good care and be well.
Call To Arms
The seeds that birthed war of gold,
sand trickled in, filling up the dome,
one early morning, flooding back memories of old,
as conquering spirited soldiers, now freely roam.
Wooded bridges were saved, to carry needed supplies,
yearning children seeking why, longing for their homes,
civilian population running, with tears in their eyes,
starving beasts now hidden, chewing on their bones.
Top leaders begging for mercy, down upon their knees,
buildings ablazing in the destructive backdrop scene,
seeking swift death, while others hang from the trees,
ships are pouring in, weighing anchor in the rough sea.
The sun is shimmering, baking, the rains begin to fall,
Scholars and Poets sheltering writings from the harms,
Mother Earth is quaking, crying for relief, from it all,
for someday, someone, who’ll survive the call to arms.
Shall open leather binders, ponder, stare and look,
would not pour resources, into its teaching schools,
they couldn’t fathom, Nations ran by greedy crooks,
fighting shall stop, seeking no more precious jewels.
For many years ago, the glorious One did by Oath,
said: “I give you this planet to care for, do it with love!
For should all you fail in the quest of this sacred growth,
I’ll descend my Angels to it, with mandamus from above!
But should you follow in the verdant prairies every day,
I will open the doors of Heavens, for you all to see,
strive to live in harmony; and peace you shall portray,
so you may stand for all eternity, and walk beside Me!
Just please remember this, my children of the world,
“I am reading your Poetry!”
Good Lord... strong AND graphic - especially the last few lines. Have to say it took me back to the badinage on my poem about the diamond dust necklace and the "boy's thing" that I needed a refresher course in! Looks like you're not the only one who needs to get out more! A weekend with the family has obviously also taken its toll on me and my reviews! I am being less than subtle tonight... I shall have to pop back and remove wot I wrote on Andy's in a min... good follow-up to Prometheus. I like the way you blend a primaeval sense of time with primaeval instincts. Kate xx
Paul you brought this to the ultimate in male domination/comparison to how we have led the way for our own eventual doom. As promised you led us to as Ed say the climax, perhaps the biggest mankind will ever know.
Will done Paul,
So first I read the brilliant PROMETHEUS UNWIRED then came to this masterwork of an apocalyptic nightmare, A GOOD DAY IN THE UNDERWORLD. Both comprise an absolutely profound and prophetic commentary on what happens when pride in science turns into the arrogance of scientists. This is a powerful and dynamic work that speaks with needed clarity to the essence of who we are as a species and the likelihood of where we are headed if we fail to reorder our priorities. Truly a fanstic piece of writing loaded with visionary substance.
You are one VERY powerful poet... a tutor in the deeper level and meaning of poetry!!
Brilliant Chuck!!

Didn't believe you could outdo "Prometheus Unwired," but I stand (sit) flabbergasted and corrected. This one took us on a herky-jerky coaxial cable ride and ended up, as we used to say in the turbulant sities, wasted. Gotta love it!
Nine New Novellas, Part III is a collection of nine sci-fi/paranormal stories to complement the nine in Nine New Novellas, Nine New Novellas Part II and Nine New Novellas, Part IV.
This chair is not your grandmother's rocking chair! In fact, you wouldn't want your grandmother or any loved one near it! So find a well lit room and enjoy an intense read of this Sci-Fi thriller.
