An Age in Retrospect (Take 3)

1963

“A king loved by his subjects had a dream…to found a new Camelot…

it was only a dream.”

A man ready to reveal that hidden from the world

a beacon against the darkness

on show to his happy people, banners unfurled.

“Oh the folly of dangerous days.”

The empire of shadows were displeased

and struck down the ‘truth-giver’ with treacherous ease.

"Deceptive wars were being fought on false fronts,

the enemy was not the enemy

they were like the rest, just prey in a global hunt."

1966

The World turned with LSD and Mescaline mind

founding a new revolution of the Aquarian kind.

Warriors with gestalt awareness protested

as minstrels sang a song of freedom

an illusion as best can be attested.

“While in marbled halls, the pillars of power

echoed with a tuneless Straussian waltz.”

1970-2000

The cauldron of culture grew and grew,

into the pot went the industries of the popular,

economic growth, and a war or two.

All the essential ingredients

in a recipe of distractions,

needed for a human stew.

Designed to keep enquiring minds

from knowing what we knew

that was reserved for the chosen few.

“And so like the Salmon eating its way up it’s birthing rapids,

hungry to die, we rushed toward technocratic utopia.

Lost in our hubris, unaware of the paradigm shift,

like the Atlantean’s  past.  And like them, for us,

it was too late, the die had been cast.”

A New Millennium dawn…

The Sun rose with new hope above the horizon of need

but it was just another illusion from a century of greed.

And when Jachin and Boaz fell

before Liberty amidst the crystal canyons

of the American dream…well?

“The cabal went cherry-picking in the orchard

of ill-gotten gains, and for their pains,

were rewarded with a fine harvest

of weapons of mass deception

which they used to Stove-pipe

a smoking gun with rumours

of mushroom clouds

emitting from unsafe actors

clothed in poor mans shrouds.”

The World present day...

Watching our imagined reality on digitised TV,

And there, in our blindness we see,

‘Another murder, another bombing’

the new religion the politics of the gun.

Conjecture and confusion, adds to the mix

enhances the illusion, adds to the fun.

chaos and disorder parameters set by the ‘New World Order’

in a communication revolution

…or a devolving of human evolution?

Under panoptic control

the agencies of light and dark

now fight for your very soul.

…Welcome to the beginning of the End of Times.

“…And cut! That’s a wrap!”

A "Director's Cut" with one sobering and intensely defined perspective on the road behind us and the one beneath our contemporary feet. Great close ups and outstandig wide angles that deliver as much insight as entertainment.

Paul,
This is true perfection! Your words are powerful, and your pen is sharp and gifted. I do believe that we are on the very verge of Armageddon.

Magnificent piece!

"An Age in Retrospect (Take 3 )The Directors Cut" stimulates the mind and warns the inner souls.

Prophecy as an inspired message or a coined prediction can be enforced to become history or can be changed. The receiver and the deliver will have the credit for making a direful future become magnificent and splendorous one or to make a life of bonanza become starvation and serfdom. It is up to the leaders of the planet to decide, and it is up to the people to “aye, aye” for them or “nay, nay,” and show them that their power can only remain under people’s will.

"An Age in Retrospect (Take 3 ) The Directors Cut" ~ was written to be enjoyed and studied through the millennia by those that enjoy The Major Art. A poetic excellence to enrich the treasure of The English Fine Letters.

Let mankind understand the order of the planet.
It’s time for all to gather and sow seed of Justice,
Before Time disallows use of tools to build ships
To rescue human children from deluge of blood!

excellent and potent poetry here, Paul ... are we living in end times or living through a shift in civilization?

End game in a different wrap. Truly the write of a visionary too bad it won't make it to DVD for those who refuse to read the signs of the times. Excellent write. Peace and blessings. <Mikii>

I agree with Richard, and add that this is a masterpiece of writing Paul! Truly grand in style and content, spot on in analysis! It should be published for all to read. I feel like we're living in the book of Revelations...Take care...

WOW Paul ...

A clear, concise, and well thought out time-line that clearly points out the inadequacy of man to guide himself.

I, too, believe that we are in the end times Paul. I have heard some conjecture on the fact that we are presently in WW3, and it started with the towers. This could very well be true.

Indeed ... there is something insidiously panoptic in this world right now. Everything, and I am not a harbinger of doom and gloom, is getting darker exponentially.

A powerful write that all should take heed too ...

That was deadly honest and well written. It tells of the times fortold by Jesus, "Except those days be shortened, there will be no flesh left on Earth." Well done.
God Bless,
Lew
