Poem written on the death of a murdered young girl.

"Lacey's Lace "

by Maryella Vause

Delicate,
Flimsy, even,
Far too fragile for this place.
Torn and ragged, ruined,
In disgrace.

Ripped and pulled,
Now laid to rest,
Too late, too soon.
Her bright life gone,
Rushed eternity.

Dark and lonely,
Empty space.
Grief and pain
In each embrace.
Lost to the destroyer.
Mixed raw-hide and lace.

Lacey's veil
Is not a bride's.
Hers is not for joy.
Satan's spirits made her life
Their toy.

Baby Lacey,
Sweet and new.
That's how I remember you.
Laced with pink and blue.

Laughing Lacey,
Sad within.
Laced your drinks with gin.
Followed fragile kin.

Who will lift you now,
 From grasp of cruel sin?
Who will mend your lace?

Who will wash away your tears?
Who will dry your face?
Who will clean your blood-stained lace?

"Jesus wept."

What a tragic story! So many Laceys in the world today, toying with sin, choosing the forbidden. He still weeps.
Yet, He has sent us into His world to be His representatives, to reach out to them and speak freely of His love, that knows a better way. Lord, help us and love them through us.
Love, Connie
