My sister in law , Irene, has been quite ill for the past few years. She passed away on March 6, 2009. Her funeral was Tuesday. I wrote this poem for her. ..... Jan. 2011,, This is also dedicated to Karen Vanderallan's sister

Poem Artwork

The sun is setting in the west
My soul is finally free
God called me to his heavenly home
Do not weep for me

I was in pain and suffered so long
It was so hard trying to go on
God looked down and saw my plight,
He led me toward everlasting life

I'm at peace now , home where I belong
My heavenly home is filled with joy and song
The loved ones I lost along lifes way
live in paradise, forever to stay

I'm in the breeze that caresses your face,
I'm in the warmth of a tender embrace

When you hear the gentle flutter of angel wings
or the songs of birds as they sing

Remember I'm there to brighten your day
I did not die, I'm just away

This poem is really beautiful. It sends a word of hope even for those of us who will some day follow in your sister's footsteps. I can just imagine myself being a part of the breeze that's blowing in the face of a loved one. It gives me spiritual peace. One's heart and passions are at their richest when we lose someone and you've certainly demonstrated the love you feel.

God bless,
Jeanette
