Like D'Artagnan William, Holly tries to cheat by puting that smile in front of my eyes and after, innocently, ask me to tell her what I see. That's not fair!
Playing dirty tricks to hide "something" didn't help either.
It goes like this...
Dedicated to poetess Holly Hamilton
That's not pathetic wished to be seen,
invisibility is a realm for afterlife;
seeking, solitude will find a company
that will no fade as the fog does, like
running up to disappear at the top
that crowns every mountain side.
Looking in many mirrors I have seen
that kind of questioning dark eyes,
like Holly’s, never getting honest answers,
maybe because our eyes where outside
the reflecting silver back of all the glasses,
looking, always looking, where is life?
Haven’t noticed that some of your friends
have their eyes full of eternal smiles?
they don’t talk about the inflicted abuse,
it is too deep, under seven locks, inside,
curious ears maybe will want to know,
but Holly, she wouldn’t tell her side.
Eyes that smile, but never will say about
a thorn that’s lodged in a heart much alive,
a constant hurt, stabbing more and more,
the wound that never gets old with time,
it is not a pain produced by gentle love,
it’s from many memories…and cries.
Inside Holly’s eyes, there’s something, but,
you wouldn’t see, nor will ever I,
a veil left by tears is there to cover them
so we can’t see what really is inside;
because you forget to look for sadness there,
as she’s blinding you with her smile.
a very human write exposed to the core of our nature. eyes are truly the windows to our soul. some windows need to be cleaned, not just covered up. however, human nature is and of itself sometimes a cover up. i truly enjoyed reading this and will again.
there is beauty in this write of eyes...hidden...if it be pain...perhaps that is why Holly has become a kind and giving being and poet...if pain hides behind beauty...than much poetry is written of beauty.

I think you have captured the lady lovingly and with insight that may be too close to the truth but only the lady will know that for sure. With a smile that big it does tend to blind us from thinking that she could ever be sad...

Each of us have memories that are too painful to wear on a daily basis. Upon occasion, we take time to revisit them and allow our tears to once again bathe the wounds that the sharpness of them shall rest for a time. A beautiful poem for a beautiful lady.
Take care,
Sherry
What a profound write and a insightful view of those compelling eyes, and smile that adorns our wonderful friends face. Well done dear friend!
Blessings,

A blinding smile - truly makes one look no further. This is what Holly wants us to see. Kinda' like a clown, laughing on the outside, crying on the inside.
Her poetry is a better "reflection" of who she is.

My dear Georg, damn straight that's fair hiding behind that smile playing dirty tricks on you my 'Beauty and the Beast' friend. lol
You are the kind of man I can relate to for many reasons that little know about. But I will say this about the little stinker that I am... I can't stand injustice..in anything yet I see it all the time everywhere I look. I want to cry, but instead I smile... afterall the show must go on!
Till the day I die I will search out poeple like you! Real people and hopefully will not ever fail you. God Bless You my friend, Love Holly
Maybe she smiles to hide the pain: all you can see is brilliant white, with tears hidden in her eyes...who knows? This is an outstanding tribute to our Holly; well done.
It's impossible to truly know another person. Usually we project ourselves on to an image we have of that person and then are surprised that the person is not who we really think they are. And I think this is a good thing. We all need that little personal thing to hold on to. Otherwise we fly to pieces.
Georg, you have penned a beautiful tribute to our Holly! I agree with the others here who have said what I thought when I read.
Simply beautiful.
Love you both,
Annie
because you forget to look for sadness there,

You continue to pen some marvelous and insightful 'eye poems,' my friend. And dear Holly has become a very good friend to many of us here in AD. You honor her very well.
I love this poem and Holly. She is a beautiful soul. Yes, we all harbor pain inside, I believe that is what inspires most of us. I try to live from happiness now, and the pain seems to be mostly gone. You are right , however, it still dwells deep inside all of us.
Nice tribute to one our finest.
Peace, Love, and Light,

Holly, a lovely piece of work this poem. I absolutely loved the last paragraph. "Inside Holly's eyes," so forth. You captured the pain that dwell inside of souls, the veil covering the pain. The smile that blinds the bitter. Beautiful piece of work.
