as they promised and didn’t deliver
and your protesting don’t want

Demo, like in demonstration
it’s not the bona-fide real thing,
like a full version of their product,
if you buy it for another four years
despite you knew from the Demo that
in hundred days it will be but bust.
There is where it comes the twist
when Democracy and Demo-crazy
changed places, not for you,
but for the cronies flying around
like flies on a dead horse,
or after any wet party, on a puke.
Democracy, schmocracy they will say
come again and vote for us, promises
are the same, you naïve morons bunch,
we don’t get our deep pockets filled
during our so very short first term,
so we need please, please, another four!!!
Nice writing Georg! Maybe if we did have a democracy things would run more honestly, but alas we have a representative republic and must depend upon and trust those we voted in place. It is such a shame that a once proud, vibrant government is now beyond corruption.....

We need a clean sweep of all houses and a new agenda, but who will do it. The people are too complacent to remove the government that has become totally rotten within! Excerllent write!
They've forgotten whom they serve...the same old greedy ones with their own agendas can afford to get into office, the poor ones who might do something have no chance: enough's enough. Excellent expression of craziness.
This is one reason why I try not to get too involved in politics; it's gotten too crazy! But what do we do when our very values are threatened by "political correctness"? That's when we who believe in values/morals need to stand up and say: "NO MORE!!"

George this is fantastic. We once had a politician who represented our constituency for five years in the parliament but did nothing to improve the lives of the people who voted for him. So the community decided to bring a substitute and get rid of this old rat. The politician heard about the rumours of the constituency and organized a mass rally to make a speech for his supporters. When he took the floor he confidently started by saying: I have heard of the echoes coming from the community elders in the constituency who want to bail me out. I must admit that over the past five years I did not do anything for this community because I was in a bitter contest with other parliamentarians who have better houses or drive better cars than me. Now I am satisfied with my status and shall devote all my time and effort to you. No corruption again or diverting resources meant for the constituency to personal use. I want another five and I tell you if you bring a new candidate it will take him five years to reach the status of those other parliamentarians. So the choice is yours: Either me who is ready to work for you this term or a man who ill first build up himself before he erects a single wall to build a school for you. And there was a big roar in the big crowd as to who shall be elected. This is how devious and rather interest-oriented politicians deceive uneducated people but I don’t know how educated people like Americans are tricked by a politician by convincing them to give him another four without giving them back anything more than speeches.

Democracy was invented to give the slave the idea that he can change the cycle of power; he can talk big issues, and live as he pleases... YES! and as long as the PLUTICRATS allow.
My dearest Georg, sometime ago I received an e-mail that made me laugh my head off... but also ponder on the serious truth it delivered; it said - "politicians are like diapers; they must be changed often... and for the very same reason." The problem with democracy... or rather, what it is becoming, is, in my humble opinion, the fact that we keep relying far too much on politicians full of s**t (diapers... lol!) to take care of it, instead of recovering its true meaning to the full - "demos" = "people", "cracia" = "rule".
