I am tired of the defeatist attitude of many that will replace the strip 'n stripes for a white piece of cloth meaning surrender...
"What we can do?" shouldn't be in the American vocabulary, we know that the Washington White Teepee talks with two tongues (the Sioux can vouch about that)and that the Congress and the House are driven by lobbyist and consortiums money so, why we accept and cheer every election the same promises, the same lies, the same crooks again and again?
Iraq and Katrina had shown us what we can expect of our politicians, it is not time to throw the whole lot on a garbage dumpster and give a new ones a chance?
They couldn't possible be as bad as the ones we have had the last decades...
We are the Davids, it is time to throw a stone on Goliath's head.

Poem Artwork

From flower to flower it was flying
a multicolored little hummingbird
in a beautiful but secret garden
bees domains where they labored.

It flew like it was a the child of the wind,
its wings didn’t move, just whispered
with the voice of many silent feathers
where dreams seems to be sheltered.

From tree to tree unrelenting searching
the snake towards the small nest slithered,
with the movement of a cruel stalker
silently in the sight of the prey was tethered.

This time wasn’t she around an apple tree
under which a man and a woman sheltered,
just little new born and feeble chickens that
calling for they mother trembling whimpered.

It wasn’t a good match maybe you will say,
a powerful snake against feathers that fluttered
how could she so little her young defend?
that’s what the viper for sure didn’t figured.

Even little ones can by despair moved to feel
they are without an escape and outmaneuvered,
and will fight a final battle with all they have
for even the most measly thing they treasured.

Where the snake was slow and powerful
it was fly dexterity in our hummingbird,
that with lightning movements right and left
her long beak the eyes of the snake shattered.

A small creature once again defeated Goliath
that didn’t want to be among the captured,
because there are nobody that’s more strong
than a weak one fighting to death undeterred.

You give me hope that we can better our country. The how is the problem. Who wants to stick their neck out? [it might get chopped off] Yet, it occurs to me that our Congressional leaders should have a term limit - there's one for the president, governors, mayors, and many other political seats. Why should Congress be given the opportunity to be continually in office [presuming they win the election] INDEFINITELY! I truly wish some politician would stand on that point, win and make it happen. They, maybe, we would begin to see a strengthening of our country.

God bless you, Georg. You have said this most simply, yet, eloquently. Kathy

What immense feeling George, I had my fists clinched, ready to climb into that poem to help that sweet little creature, your imagery looks for powerful alliances, and your cause, just like Davids, or the little humminbird is most just. If the statue of Liberty sinks into the sea, so will the rest of the world! Blessings!Jasmin Horst

Georg,

Unfortunately, those in High Office forget whom they serve; it's all about their own interests and poop on the little guy (us). Shame.

Whether Dems or Repubs, they're all liars, cheats, thieves ...

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Iraq and Katrina had shown us what we can expect of our politicians, is it not time to throw the whole lot on a garbage dumpster and give new ones a chance?

Indeed, it is. But, alas, where will we find them? It seems that these days, a politician by any other name is still the same old politician, with just a different face.

There will be wars and rumors of wars and politicians to get us into them. The Roosevelt's, the Truman's the Kennedy's, the Johnson's they all wear the same stripes.
