You never are aware that it is there always, faithfully following you, and will do it even if ever your jump from the mountain side...I will falling with you.

Poem Artwork

I always will be a faithful shadow
when you stay of bright light in front,
a part of you, your stalker for life,
I still be here, long after you gone.

I am bound to wear the darkest colors,
mostly black, like shades of your world,
happiness has brightness on its hues,
you gave me to wear your saddest tones.

I can’t escape my destiny to be forever,
even that finest lines under your bones,
I was nowhere to be seen until that day
you happened, in getting yourself born.

I am your shadow, the one behind you,
blessed for going to the lights, and not,
walking away from them, and the Father,
you don’t want me walking away forever
to that eternal darkness you have in front.

It is a very talented poet that can make one feel sadness and sorrow for an object such as your shadow. But you have my friend. I will try to stay in the light so my shadow can find brightness with me. Love, Bonnie

Oh!...My poor shadow must be exhausted, is all I can say!...and I'll be damned if I'm casting her any mercy! LOL!

Inseparable. Symbolically, having no shadow means death. So many were fascinated by shadows. I like the part about the "saddest tones" that were left to it. True...

Excellent write,, I wrote a poem called "Cheated by me" it was selected to be one of 33 poems to be read on a cd to be released in 4 weeks "Sounds of Poetry",,,(Int. Society of Poets) anyway you will have to read it if you have time, as it reminds me of your poem.

This is very real yet surreal in that we cast a shadow which seems to come back to haunt us in some way we can't really define. I always found it fascinating as is your poem,Georg!

Georg - enjoyed I am Your Shadow with its philosophical overtones. Excellent use of the shadow as symbol. I especially liked :

I always will be a faithful shadow
when you stay of bright light in front,
