Tell your sons tomorrow when they ask
why you left their inheritance to be
in the hands of many incompetent men
with the only purpose in life to serve greed.

Tell your daughters afterward when they ask
if you thought well the choices that you did,
because their children, your grandchildren,
are getting no bright future but only grief.

Tell our soldiers going to unspeakable war, why
electing a demented for their Commander in Chief,
making a mockery of the Stars and Stripes
for another thirty pieces of silver of treachery.

Tell the infirm that can’t afford the medicines
why in a land of plentiful he’s getting weak,
because investors demand more and more money
the poor getting poorer and the rich filthy rich.

Tell the Veterans to make soup from their ribbons
they have plenty of those to make a feast meal,
