While trying to resolve a problem for another poem (music background wise) I wish to share with you some thoughts about the future soldiers which will be send to senseless wars, no matter which color, nationality or credo, they are human beings with families...
Look at their faces and tell me if you agree to send more of our boys away...
The railway platform was full of people
like a garden with many colorful tulips
pressed together like that grandmother’s
with tenderness and thoughts old quilt.
Far away, at the end the, the loco churned
like an impatient bull ready and full of will
to take an imaginary bullfighter in front
taking all the passenger’s wagons with him.
Soldiers hanging from every open window,
giving to their sweethearts yet another kiss,
feeling in their hearts that pull of sadness but
saying, “soon I will be back, be faithful to me”
Love was pure, promising, painful and yet
as the loco whistle gave an hysterical scream
many hopeful arms shut up holding hearts…
the last farewell from the white handkerchiefs.
These feelings are Heart-Stopping Georg!
YOU have touched my paternal soul with your vivid words!

The feeling still resides in my heart
When my son was in Desert Storm (the first Iraqe War)
Each night we prayed for him with tears in our eyes
Hoping to see him soon
Dreams of him only brought tears
for I visioned hin as a child,
dressed in his Bert and Ernie stripe shirt

Stark but realistic look at the beast we know as war. I won't say all wars are not necessary for sometimes it is the only option when tyrants refuse to listen but wars of greed are all too often fought under the disguise of freedom. Let the youth grow up and the heros rest.

Oh God how I know that feeling and no enough is enough. All this senseless killing and sacrificing must come to an end before another comes home in a box and families only have a folded flag to embrace....

This one is superb! One of your finest...it flows with much emotion and the imagery is perfect. My favorite lines were the last two lines of the first stanza... Perfect description!
I am a peaceful person, I dislike war and all that it entails. I shall pray that we can live in peace and harmony like our Native Americans wanted so long ago.

A very lovely piece, and the picture matches very well. Unfortunately it can be describing soldiers from many wars, from many countries. "How many deaths will it take till we know too many people have died? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind"

Poignant! Grips the heart with a crushing truth. It's one of the conundrums of war you know ... we fight for the soldier next to us and we strive to kill those that want to kill us. Senseless, illogical; when will it end?

Feel as Mr. Ed. If more of your leaders sent their kids over there and had to worry and know the loss of their company maybe we'd do better at not sending young men over. Pres. Bush does not have his daughter's over there. Why? Some young women leave kids with their mothers and go over and leave husband's behind. It just does not seem fair to us.
