Olympus Erato's children had never ceased to tell man the truth, everybody knows about false prophets but no one ever knew of a false poet.
Perhaps if the world stopped to be so stubbornly deaf would understand the words and open their eyes to a real Paradise around them, not just a utopian one that they can buy with gold.

Poem Artwork

The rasping voice of a quill on parchment
telling about a poem with rhythmic words,
child of Erato perhaps even a blessed one
inspired to write verses so many eons ago,
under the weak flickering flame of a candle
or under the fiery burning of inspiration sun,
the rasping voice will disturb the silence
as it gives man something for his soul.

Justitia is crying because man haven’t listen
the poets on a remotes corners of the world,
telling him that children are dying infirm
or being violence victims of his violent wars,
but man don’t learn from no soft spoken poets,
because tyrants have much more powerful voice,
just believing in today and just a tomorrow,
man seems now, that have no need for God.

Mount Olympus like a Babel Tower there,
from Zeus highs man will appear so small,
and yet capable to anger the sky’s powerful
when man provokes the hammer of Thor,
of Neptune's deep growling storming seas
or Cesar’s mighty quadrants of centurions,
poets will have the upper hand with quills
when battling pathetic little men with swords.

Shadows are growing from all Greeks ruins
that once was the crib of civilized world,
philosophers and learned men were together
to give man a direction and simples laws,
and the mighty divines of the Olympus
a full cornucopia of poets to man bestow,
but the quill’s rasping voice on parchment
is not heard by the greedy men, not anymore.

Why should men listen to us when they can actually fight. I will never understand the world of men and how quick to anger they become "for the cause". This poem reminds me of the song "One Tin Soldier" by Coven. It is only after the battle is over that the victors are very disappointed in the reward they have fought so hard to win. "Peace on earth, was all it said." Let's not hate our neighbors or cheat our friends, let's all sit down at the same table and talk about the sun, the trees, the beautiful flowers we saw that day; let's talk about how the youngest is going to go to college and learn to be a doctor, lawyer, nurse, architect, or even maybe a teacher to teach young minds.

Man is never satisfied it seems until he has destroyed the entire world, and then when he is sitting on nothing but a rock, wonders what happened. This is a very wonderful soul stirring poem that makes us all think about what we are doing not only to this wonderful earth of ours, but to our neighbors who also live on this small planet, third rock from the sun.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your den sister, Barbie.

I love your words Georg...you are the flowing well of wisdoms depth
you're masterful of the craft with beautiful art forms
your words chisling to the heart of all....

of my many summations to false poet: for those who wear a face of falcity-a face they wish to be theirs...the cloak of deception to trick true poets...an unfortunate thing to hide behind masks...but for some they are not comfortable in the light of truths reveal to others let alone theirself...they are deaf...

This is really classic, Georg, very true and profound. I had to read it twice to understand every wise thought you picked up from collective consciousness…
I hope more and more people will follow an ancient Egyptian wisdom and will appreciate God’s creation on earth.

You are right. Greedy men tend to be tone-deaf. Well penned. A keeper. I particularly like the use of myth and history's part in the making of the now. And the pen being mightier than the sword. Read any Lorka? I may have spelled that wrong, sorry. A Spanish poet who was murdered for his words. Hugs, J'nia

Your muse is working overtime, Georg. Such insight in this beautiful poem...very beautiful! I so admire your use of "The rasping voice of a quill on parchment"; an apropos opening for the Ancients that follow! A library saver, for me...

A "poet," Georg. This is a title that I never, never in a hundred years thought I might, in some small way, be known as. Poets, I think are certainly not born, but crafted by the experiences of their lives. And this I know for sure is one Georg E. Mateos.
Your friend, Mark.

I was here four hours ago, but could write a word on this poem. I left for meditating on what poets do, and what this Poet does. This Poet interprets the holy scrolls of life by mandate of the nine Muses.

I read this three times. "From the Hands of Poets" fly quills of words over the human ocean following the waves of wisdom to the shore of Humanness.

“Laureate Patriarch Mahatma Poet,” we all could call the author of "From the Hands of Poets", but I feel in my heart that he is "The Rav Poet Georg Edvard Mateos."

Most Respectfully,

Dixie Dawn Michelle
