When morning mist leaves

Night evaporate on the room's walls and from the dampened window the world is wrapped in mist, like the gossamer night gown of some unknown queen that reigned when we were asleep...

Poem Artwork

Predawn, the birds are quite,
shadows are tiptoeing away,
yawning morning shed
its nightgown, unabashed naked,
waiting for the kiss of the sun
that will push the mist to leave.

Turning my head you will be there,
rosy cheeks and peaceful breath,
warmth from your bosom and the
softly drumming from your heart,
can’t love you more, even if
you were real, like morning mist.

Then, we wake up to the kiss that
fondly, she will leave on our cheek.

Georg - excellent imagery. I could feel that damp morning mist. Loved your use of personification as in:

shadows are tiptoeing away,
yawning morning shed
its nightgown, unabashed naked,
waiting for the kiss of the sun
that will push the mist to leave.

Enjoyed! - David

It doesn't get any better than this. The communication and "touch" from beyond is strong and gentle in its approach. Ghosts? Hardly. Merely a way "they" have to keep love alive. Beautiful work Georg.
