A few in AD have written from time to time their childhood experiences.
But those that survived, maybe did it by keeping their inner child, girl or boy, hidden from harm.
A few haven't yet let that child to go free, because the pain is so deep and unforgettable...and they don't dare.

Like coming after been pushing out from nowhere
my eyes looked without understanding at the world,
help wasn’t something that the little one could expect
nor he would ever know the meaning of receiving love.

You weren’t heartily invited but arrived here anyway
to be of one mother, that extra superfluous little boy
that I been carrying inside my cold heart like forever
the only protection through many years he ever got.

He learned that silence was a gift of peaceful moments,
tears were many, so many that one day were no more,
the shadows will never thank for the absence of light,
as the asking whys came to the little one much later on.

The innocence is there, untouchable as the first day,
sparks in the child’s eyes, purity that cannot be ignored,
because bitterness never reached the root of the tree
nor was allowed anyone, to hurt the toddler anymore.

No matter what, I don’t want to lose him, my inner child,
that had kept me sane despite family, enemies and wars,
one day, a reflection in a wonder mirror I will see again,
the face of that little boy, maybe without that haunting look.

Your inner child ... chilling. Perhaps one day without a hint of awareness, he will arrive - being more beautiful than you could have possibly imagined ----------- that is my prayer for you.

God bless you my friend. Kathy

Awe, you can be the loving parent that little boy needs. Eventually, he may even come out to play. Bless you Georg. Hugs, J'nia

So very sad. We all need to hang on to that inner child, and I guess we all our own reasons.

Sometimes it's a sad reality that we had to go where we were to get where we are. This is a beautiful write, right from the heart.

Back in the sixties/seventies I did some of the weird psch shit that put forward we all consist of parent, adult, child. There was a lot of truth to it then and over a few joints I could get my head around it...now I just say F it...too close to the finish to worry about it.

Survival of the unloved, millions suffered that fate, and still do, best put a gravemarker in your head, and bury them deep, and if they keep coming back up, bury them deeper, that is what they'll do with all of us that didn't share love, and so it should be, take care!

We can never change the past either good or bad. Your sad reflections tell me that some part of you still resides there, and maybe, just maybe, if you can find a way to let it go, a sparkle can return to the eyes of your inner child. Patrick

What a powerful and moving piece of work. And the picture! So appropriate. I remember it from when I was young. World at War, right? With the flames consuming the picture and the booming music in the background. It all ties in so nicely. I don't ever want to lose the wonder and magic of "my inner child" either, eventhough he seems so far away and distant now. This really moved me. Fantastic work.

the weight of the worlds sorrows escape from the eyes of the photo
and tears come to escape mine in all the knowing of this depth...a grave of memories buried so deep in anguish & betrayals of life...

Well written, our inner children carry many pictures of that life. Perhaps one of the best things that they did was "discipline" till one couldn't feel the pain no more. It took many years to allow the self to really feel emotions appropiately. I also learned twenty years ago how to let them out to play. Good advice for myself today actually so I thank you for your write. LadyJ

Heartbreaking - what can I say? Anything I would say would be trivial, meaningless. All I can do is cry for that little boy you were and wish I could embrace him in a (((HUG))), let him know not all adults are so cruel. I'm so sorry you had to go through this -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(
