The door is there, why not open it and cross to the other side? be the one that decides? be the one that enters the void where no promises or dreams were ever there? after they told you...will you go to obediently stay in front of that final door and wait? why?

Poem Artwork

Too twisted to understand, feelings ambiguity
of tormented and nightmares producing thoughts,
why all the life’s mirrors so easily can give a lie,
is the truth, to be reflected in silver, so little worth?
The angel whispered in your ear, and then left you
standing with indecision in front of that final door.

Between you and the door’s embossments will be
passing by, Nam faces of tunnel men showing terror,
as you were the last they saw, the angel of death that
didn’t let them to have one last scream, a tormentor
appearing from nowhere, unexpected, feared, cruel,
like an avenger from an angry and unmerciful God.

Life’s end, the unpredictable road without a friend,
man get detached of many things when getting old,
years are suffocating when coming in great numbers
giving to the will of living not a wish, not anymore,
the little spark that became a roaring consuming fire
will not be leaving ashes behind, just a smear of soot.

Looking back, realizing that it is true what they said
“man have no one coming from nowhere when born”
with an outraged cry when been forcefully yanked
from a quasi existence into a life you never asked for,
accumulating incomprehensible knowledge, but
understanding that alone you came and alone you will go.

Futility of man, existence like that of a banana fly,
inconsequential flying, just about hours twenty four,
we try to convince ourselves that we matter to Universe,
we are a spec of dust which only can be seen by God,
because against the immensity of all the eternity
our time here can be measured only by a Divine clock.

And they will say, “here was a man once upon a time,
that never had a friend, and walked all his life alone,
like the sparrow from Paris he didn’t regretted nothing
and obediently when the punches came he did try to roll,
becoming the unknown, the one going by leaving
never a reflection of his face, no mirror was that worth.

Oh yes! Back we are at the life’s final gates, the exit,
perhaps deluding yourself, behind it is something more,
but having the pockets so full of miserable years, you
will not give a damn after the Reaper the lights switch off,
because you will be letting go a demented laugh of happiness
as you into that eternal darkness let yourself to fall.

...A SPECK OF DUST...WHICH ONLY CAN BE SEEN BY GOD...THEN, WE ARE NOT ALONE, THERE IS THEN...HOPE. GOD...HE IS ALL WE HAVE, BUT THEN...HE IS ALL WE NEED. I'M GOING TO WAIT...I DON'T CARE WHAT TRANSPIRES OR HOW LONG IT TAKES...I'M GOING TO WAIT...UNTIL HE OPENS THE DOOR FOR ME. HOW ABOUT YOU, GEORG? Well written Georg. Reminds me a bit of some of Job's friends. They tried to convince him that there was no meaning to life and that God didn't care about his intense suffering. But in the end, God had the last word and Job never gave up his faith in the unseen God and he was blessed ten times over for his simple faith. If this is all it takes, well, count me in too. Hugs, J'nia

As we travel the road of life we are always aware the door is there waiting, always waiting to be opened. Amazingly philosophical...

Georg wow extremely heartfelt and it touch my soul deeply
Most inspirational in heart-words
I have come very close a few times
To saying goodbye and letting go
except when I looked into my husband’s eyes and saw so
Much sorrow and pain, I couldn’t let go
And the other deferent’s is that I have friends
But your words brought tears to my eyes and memories
This is absolutely beautiful and heartfelt!!
BRilliant piece!!
Wishing you Peace Love and Light...Yolie

Your mind is sharp and philosophical and your insights are knifelike in this one Edvard. I can only hope to be as intelligent and lucid as you are in the years coming.

For me the importance of connecting with, and revealing, ones inner struggles, and true feelings about this life, is one of the beauties of being a writer or an artistic sort. Life is 90% struggle and 10% bliss. In my opinion.

In respect ...

Everything else you can pay with your money's ego, but at that gate, you can only pay with your life, remember you have to give up the old, before anything new can dress you, that gate, going by past history, well I'll say no more, I'd be crying in the night, but remember this, your friends will be following you, you'll not be alone. I think we should hold on and cherish each and every second we are given as I believe God will always be there with open arms when it is our turn to walk through that door. Great write which makes us really think Georg.

I've been at those doors, more than once and I understand these deep feelings. But please don't say "He never had a friend" A profound pen Georg, soul touching.

we try to convince ourselves that we matter to Universe,
we are a spec of dust which only can be seen by God

Once we put our massive egos aside, I think that truth becomes evident. So I guess we then have to ask ourselves, would God care if I rush through that door, or would He think better of me if I attempt to cherish every moment of the life, He gave me.
