Rejection, one of the seven capital sins, got when searching for love, or tenderness, or comfort, or sanctuary...
Those that had been rejected once, know how the fires of hell burn, those that had been just rejected again and again are the ghosts of ourselves...

Opening a window, discovering the butterflies gone.
A postman supposed to come twice that never came.
One good and young heart bathed with bitterness
in the hands of a cheater playing old love’s games.

Georg, I know well this subject of rejection! But you know what, if they just aren't into to you, they just aren't into you...Hard pill to swallow but sometimes that is what life hands you..

Dear Georg, My friend is ninty year old and in good health. Until now he had no problem. But when he reach this age, he told me about his bitterness about being alone. What should I tell him? Love Emile

I can't possibly even under the remotest... feel of a better answer than Patricks, and Carrols, for ones you get near to him, rejection, yours, will feel mighty insignificant don't you think, but I know it hurts just the same, and for that feeling to assuage, a hug my friend. Rejection...so very many types of it there are
From love interests to fashion to personality to race..religion...beliefs...

Ahhh old friend we learn the pain of rejection at an early age as tots we may be left out of playground games, as teens turned down for a date with the prettiest girl, in marraige we may find out that our spouses cheated on us...and in old age...we have the privelage of rejected all...
