Hard to Swallow

I'm told I must, therefore I will
Consume this rather costly pill
They tell me that its' only mission
Is to improve my health condition
But in the box there is a statement
Listing more than pain abatement

The warnings there are cold and brisk
It seems that I might be at risk
For other forms of pain and stress
It's clear that they could not care less

But doctor's orders I must follow
I close my eyes and bravely swallow
The deed is done-- I wonder if
There is a pain in my midriff
My stomach feels a little queasy
I'd best sit down and take it easy

The clock ticks on, Will I survive?
It's hopeful, 'cause I'm still alive!
