"Daughter, write what you see," saith The LORD.
Frequently, The LORD will reveal to me, those things that are about to take place. "THE STORM" is from one of the most-recent of those times. On Saturday, August 20th, 2005 at 3:37 p.m. [DST], The LORD told me to ,"Write what you see." Obediently, I took up my pen, and began to write, as quickly as the storm that was taking place outside my window...Eight days later, it was made manifest to me, as I learned with the rest of the world, about Hurricane Katrina. I am grateful The LORD lets me "see" through His Eyes, and I pray this brings a sort of comfort or solace to its readers, and most especially, to any victims/survivors. You are in my prayers.

The STORM: Prelude to Katrina
The life-sized statue
Of the virgin, Mary
Stands boldly, alone,
In the parking lot.
Abandoned yellow sawhorses
And dusty wooden signs,
Acknowledge the reparation
In progress.
Traffic speeds by, unnoticing,
That above her, the skies are competing:
From the south, an ever-deepening, smoky mist,
Which eerily creeps back and forth
On the pavement, like Old London fog;
Sometimes blurrying the defining lines
Of her precious form.
One moment, the mist is creeping before her,
The next, behind...then suddenly, reversed!
The Northwest is driving the wind
That carries the pelting rain,
In its stinging, diagonal sheet
Pummelling, the Virgin's back.
But from the east, comes the brilliance
Of the Creator, Himself!
A dazzling spectacle...
Yet, humbly, her delicate hands
Are gently lifted
Turned outward, palms up,
As if her Son, Jesus,
Has just asked her
To go outside to greet
Those in need
Of Shelter, from
The Storm.
