Katrina, Oh Katrina
You came storming into town amidst great confusion and fear.
You blew apart the homes that these people held so dear.
Your winds had no mercy as they called upon the waves
To wreak havoc upon the city as the lightning streaks and the thunder raves.
You showed no heart and took no pity on the people whose you lives took that day.
You even sent the rain from up above as you blew their homes away.
But the human heart does not give up and with faith they will rebuild anew.
So, blow all day and blow all night and send your rain and waves too.
Because when you are but a memory man will start again
To rebuild all that he held dear before your wind and rain.
It is written that the rain falls on the just and the unjust too.
This is a fact that I have seen before and I know it’s true .
But even the heartaches that life may bring rain, fire, drought or the waves
Only serve to bring us closer to god, that’s how our soul he saves.
