Grant me eyes to see

A woman sues her employer because she feels she was passed by for a promotion simply because she is a woman. A black man sues the city police because he feels he was singled out as a troublemaker simply because he is black. Our nation has come a long way since its inception. It still needs to work or equality for everyone.

Poem Artwork

The sky is blue with clouds of white but I refuse to look up to see.

The glory of the Heavens are there to admire but they will not be recognized by me.

Why do I not use my ability to see beauty in everybody and everything?

If only I look I can see the majesty of the bird which has taken to wing.

If I look a little more I can see the beauty inside everyone

I will not take notice of the color or their skin or be they man or woman.

If I use my God given gift to look into a person’s soul and spirit

I will enjoy the glorious sound of songs… I only need ears to hear it.

What then, may cause me to look down upon another?

Could it be that deep down within myself I feel a need to be better than my sister or brother?

It is most likely that I cast dispersions at others because I doubt the goodness of my own heart.

This is reason enough for me to allow judgmental feelings to start.

If I learn to value myself as one of Gods own creation

I also learn to love others even those of different cultures and from different nations.

God created us all.  Each of us is a part of his task of love.

Let us put bigotry out of our lives… if we try we can rise above.

A wise write my friend, often times when one is pointing a finger or bashing another with harmful words, the finger is often pointed in secret at themselves...for they are often not content or angry at their own lives...enjoyed this my friend!

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
