What are you thinking?

Have you never turned off the news because you have simply had enough? Depression and anxiety can make you feel alone. Love and joy can come but in this day you must be willing to reach for it because otherwise it will always be just out of reach. That prompted the next poem.

Poem Artwork

“What are you thinking?” she quietly asks of me.

I cannot tell her for it is as if I were lost at sea.

The sea that I am lost in is the sea of thought so deep.

Thought that is deeper than the sea and as such too restless to sleep.

My mind is inundated with all kinds of possibilities

Thoughts which pass this way and that as does a warm summer breeze.

I cannot lift myself from these random thoughts I think.

They began when from the cup of knowledge I first took a drink.

“What are you thinking?” she asks of me once more.

I simply take a breath as I stare at the floor.

How can I tell her that I fear for mankind?

For man has become unfaithful, unloving and much too unkind.

Our own selfish desires have led us astray.

The same selfish lusts will be our downfall someday.

So I simply let my mind swim in this sea of rage.

I pray that there will soon be found better knowledge in a new age

When men and women can live in a world of love and great peace.

I pray for a happy day when from earthly lusts we are released.

“What are you thinking?” she asks with great persistence.

“I am thinking of love and hope that has eternal existence.”

So well written. The bombardment of unkind "knowledge" permeates every waking moment in time these days. We have come such a long way, but I fear that mankind still has a much longer journey ahead.....

Be safe,
Karen

Yes, Dear Lew,

We must focus our energies on all the positive things we want this life to be. If we want a blue sky, we need to dip our brush in the blue paint. We have so many choices to make because of all the gifts given to us by our Creator.

Love & Light always and in all ways,
Joseph*
