October Winds announcing the soon to come winter!

Poem Artwork

October arrives in a dubious way

Temperatures drop with each coming day

The warmth of the summer is superseded by blustery weather

The fluffy September clouds are replaced by clouds of gray banding together

The day may be rainy or the haze may give way to the sun

Temperatures may rise and fall several times before each day is done

It is a month of preparation for the oncoming winter ahead

When we will enjoy snowfall covering the ground forming a soft white bed

Yet, we still remember the days of August with its’ warm air and occasional storm

While bracing for the frosty weather ahead so stoke the fire to keep warm

Don't mention the moon! Love it.

You've described the month of October so perfectly with this poem Lew. Beautifully done. I'd love to publish it at The Writing Forum. Our days vary between the high 60s one day and then the next day back up to the 80s. My dear mother used to call October the Schizophrenic month.
Blessings on Your Day,
Marcia
