in response to the challenge....

Poem Artwork

Who Am I?

I am a being in constant battle,

Fighting to become the person I long to be.

For I hold my head up and I begin each new day,

With the belief that I will eventually work hard enough,

And smart enough, to be good enough for me.

Can’t think of too many reasons to hate.

And I love with all I’ve got,

I connect with children and creatures,

And carry a passion I cannot easily explain,

For the creature we call horse.

I am freedom. I am solitude,

I am rain on a metal roof.

I am a daisy, never a rose.

I am loyal to a fault, I work harder than I should,

All in a ridiculous quest to prove,

I am good enough for them.

I am loving all the responses to Michelle's challenge that are being posted and this like your other works is insightful and honest and lets us glimpse a little of the character of the lady known as Karen.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
