Rejoice! Oh, rejoice! How He loved to rejoice ~
to share in the laughter and lift up His voice!
Clapping and singing with friends and relations,
He joined in the fun of that happy occasion!
Then Mary, His mother, took Jesus aside
and casting a glance at the bridegroom and bride,
she lowered her voice and leaned close to her Son,
"I think You should help them; the wine is all gone."
His friends were invited, we're told in John's story,
the friends of the Christ Who revealed His glory;
All who had eyes to see were blessed by the sign
of Jesus' first miracle ~ water to wine.
A far greater blessing awaits for the day
when all those invited will hear Jesus say,
"Come up, all my children, beloved, my bride;
It's time for the party! Come here by my side."
Rejoice, oh, rejoice! We will one day rejoice
at the wedding feast He will prepare;
We'll shout "Hallelu!" to our bridegroom, the Lamb,
at the heavenly banquet awaiting us there!
We'll be singing and clapping, rejoicing with Him,
dressed in white for the glorious occasion.
We will fall at His feet and we'll worship our King,
as He welcomes us home for the great celebration!
Jesus' first miracle recorded in Scriptures is changing water into wine at a wedding feast in Cana.
Bridegroom, the Lamb, our King, and the Christ all refer to Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
What a spectacular poem you have given us, Connie-Girl!
It is no secret what our GOD can do..has done..and is still doing!
I believe in Christ.. therefore, I believe in Miracles!
Love&JOY!
