I missed his birthday. It was not unintentional. ;)
We lie frozen
in the fist of January.
Even the cardinal
and his mate
are big news.
My thighs dimple,
I don't have the energy
to hit the trainer down
in the radoned cellar.
I only half-jokingly tell
my friends I’m 42,
that my children have
left home, that after
decades of working
faithfully
for the Fortune 500,
I'm a glorified secretary--
this is hardly
the promised land.
Still, let me tell you a secret:
I'm in the Mozart Zone.
Blissed out on his music,
Blind with pure blazing joy!
The new-risen God is
near-sighted, short, great-nosed.
But "Only talent concerns
woman of taste."
This winter I type
in a leveraged moment,
His music in my ears,
words spewing
like mental plumbing--
Salvation
through Mozart.

The title alone holds me fast. From that first snowball image all the way to "mental plumbing" I'm captured by the train of thought, the images and of course the music heard and suggested - GBS called it "Summer lightning made audible" and indeed it is. Thank you so much for this.
