Red, White and Blue,
Suffer the many,
Not just a few,
Red for the anger,
Unforbidding and unforgiving,
White for the lies,
Big and wide,
Lines unlade,
Stripes of untruths,
Blue for the hue,
Sorrowful yet true ,
Leftover for daddies, mothers,
Cousins, aunts and uncles,
Sisters and brothers,
Many other lovers,
Never coming back,
They didn’t survive the attack,
Stars and stripes lay them to rest,
Fighting for freedom,
Blessed in their dues,
But for whose kingdom?
Their debts are paid,
As they are laid,
They’ve left their wares,
Left their shares behind,
Broken hearts,
Broken strings,
Broken dreams,
Tears among the rind.
