Forty-five minutes of shoveling
Thank God I wore leather gloves
I didn't get any calluses
Instead I got muscles
From the shoves
I made with that shovel
It was really quite swell
A workout in Winter
That made me feel well
Then back in the house
With oat cookie in hand
I built up my energy
While window watchin'
The snowy land
Brings back many a memory of winter time in Ohio. I used to shovel snow; even shoveled it during the worst blizzard (January l978) that shut Ohio down. Couldn't get to school for two weeks due to all the snow (Karla couldn't go for three; she went to a vocational school). It was fun...NOT! It wasn't really that bad...when the power came back on, I could listen to music or watch my favorite tv show at that time, "Mulligan's Stew". Ahhh, yes. Such fond memories. How I miss winter; not much snow happens here in Texas. :(

I guess you folks up there are use to the big snows

No snow here in Texas, just deep sunshine. :) In the Spring and Summer, it was rain. Wouldn't mind snow...would bring back memories of my youth in Ohio. :) Don't hurt yourself, Lynn...snow can be heavy!
