This is for all the "men" at the
"Creek Cave Poetry Recitial".
Stony, Buckskin Snaggle Tooth and of course PeeWee......

Poem Artwork

                   White mold, black spots........

My name is Charlotte, I am silky and smooth,
can slink, slither and sometimes fly.
Finding a corner my silken web I weave,
to trap all your cheese right before your eye.

My fur is worn and a bath I have not,
there must be something better, this cave

is dank.
Filled with foul odors I dare not mention,
    Buckskin, Snaggle Tooth, Stony, PeeWee
                            pulls rank.

Did anyone bring candles to light our way?
So cold, dark, is the firewood inside?
I know there be paper, anyone have a match?
You all better be careful, might singe my hide.

Interesting you would want cheese in
                             this cave,
a good friend of mine has a beauy mark
                               of red.
There are others I know, will spin any design,
especially one with a yellow band
                          on her head.

Another spins her web into tiny, shiny pearls,
down the back of your neck or in

                 Snaggle Tooth's draws.
PeeWee's fangs do not scare me one bit,
Buckskin just hold on, you are no match with
                          those paws.

      Cottage, Romano, Provolone, Ricotta
                          and Swiss,
my friends and I will gather up your cheese.
As it begins to turn color and stink up
                           your cave,
white mold, black spots, a raw stench if
                           you please.

Coyotes and wolves will begin to circle,
all the while howling at such a
                      wretched  smell.
Hunt and search, but never enter the cave,
for as they circle closer their eyes begin
                           to swell.

They do not know I have it all wrapped in
                          my web,
unless I release it none of you will be fed.
You best beware before taking that first bite,
that stinky cheese is rotten, you will be
                       sick instead.

Hi Karen...I mean Charlotte...all the girls are dressing up like Barbie and we're haunting all the cavemen's dreams with the music to ZZ top, oh! and Larry Grunewald is having a grape stomping Harvest Festival, where your matches and/or paper will work everytime you want to light anybodys fire!
P.S.I found a new deterrent for those odors!
(I'll get back to you)

Too funny, girl!
Love and Peace~

I-spi is great in this write, Karen. Conjures so many angles on the whole cave existence... the dirt, the dark, the company, the dangers, the... cheese... Even spiders know that mold has its pride of place and is to be protected at all cost... if it is the right type... like penicillin bacteria... Have you woven your web with Alexander Phlegming's spittle by any chance?? :)) K xx

Good poem, good allegories, Karen. I enjoyed it. I did think that I hoped the Peewee was Peewee Ed, but it can't be. He skinny dips to get rid of mold. Made me hungry for good cheese...Jerry

I'm no judge of smelly cheese,
but this poem ...

Karen, this reminds of "said the spider to fly, come into my den" I think those smell old guys finally "bought the farm - er, they caved in"

Charlotte, I think I'm in Love! Finally, a female who understands we Cave Poets - worn fur, no bathing, odor, and stinky cheese!! You are most welcome at the Creek Cave Poetry Recitals, and your cheese poem has been duly entered into the 'Cheese Poem of the Year' Competition.

If only more could just see, with your spidey eyes!

Ahhhh...Karen...but when that 'mold' creates some of the most luscious wines and mushrooms in the world...how good it is!
I guess there is a positve to every negative...right?
Judging by our A.D. offerings tonight, we are pretty much on the same plane, girl.
