Seems a good time to take a long walk,
bright, warm, sunshine in full profusion.
Early in the morning when all remains quiet,
no chance of stumbling, no chance of illusion.

Gliding and swooping, with the greatest of ease,
remaining stoic, not a smile, or a frown.

Strange scents and sounds take over the mind,
as if footsteps marching, stopping at ease.

Thinking about a time before telephones,
before emails, texting, satellites and more.
When adolescent boys fresh out of school,
became men on our soil an on a foreign shore.

remembering never forgetting is the key.

From the USS Constitution to the USS Arizona,
many battles fought, most won, some lost.
The USS Bonhomme Richard to the USS Missouri,
lives come and go, but at what great cost.

Many souls lost, yesterday and today,
remaining in the memories faithful and true .
Leaving behind families and many good friends,
strongly believing in the red, white, and blue.

Visiting, meeting, greeting the brave of today,
laughter, hand shaking, even hugs to go around.
Destiny calls for deployment across the seas,
wondering how many return safe above ground.

May I point out one thing in your last stanza, however?
"God bless every one darning the uniform at station."
The word "darning" should be spelled "donning" as in wearing or putting on an outfit, a uniform or other attire.
I pray you don't mind me pointing this out.
