          Soaring high..........

It does not have to be this way,
heard this many times before.
Listen to your heart, feel it in your soul,
set your spirit free to soar evermore.

Time has come to set aside,
the needs we seek through material things.
Allowing God to bestow enlightenment,
soaring high on angel wings.

Having it all, yet having none,
a happy life does not make.
Through much spiritual clarification,
a chance we have to reach and take.

The world is ours to reap and sow,
bring back the family, children, home.
Clear your head of mindless chatter,
staying close no more to roam.

All so privileged to walk this earth,
need bow their head, give thanks each day.
Without God's blessing granting life,
what chance would we to have our say.

Please look around you, see all there is,
for living is there for us to partake.
A smile, a laugh, handshake or pat,
flowers, rivers, mountains and a lake.

Around every turn, every minute of every day,
each breath we inhale, each blink of an eye.
Enraptured with heaven's revelry,
there for the taking, there for us to try.

It does not have to be this way,
heard this many times before.
Listen to your heart, feel it in your soul,
set your spirit free to soar evermore.

And I thought I was the only person who soared! I love waking up tired and gratified after my spirit has soared the black holes, galaxies, and the universe! It has been said reach for the stars: but I say the universe is not far enough. Thank you so much for this phenominal piece of portry Karen and introspection. Peace!!!

As your pen and spirit soars! THANK YOU!
We must learn *(even the hard way) to STOP taking so much for granted! Some are learning NOW! and not out of choice...Some lessons are hard to learn as my poetry has been saying all along.

So much wisdom packed in the poem. I sense as I read it as a person having near death experience, then realizing I have a second chance at life - appreciating my life as a precious gift and seeing everything new, again. Susan

Karen your poetry like your soul is what I believe a Christian should be, not hateful, not pushy, not intolerant of other ideas or theology but instead willing to share what you see and what you feel. I am agnostic but your words do reach me in that they speak of love and life in real terms that I can understand and I always look forward to your words.
as always

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
