     Enjoy the bounty.....

Life is a gift on loan from God,
to enliven our spirits each and every day.
To enjoy the bounty laid before,
sharing with all as we go on our way.

Visiting a friend long overdue,
or buying lunch for a stranger we meet.
Observing nature unraveling its magic,
thanking God for every miniscule treat.

A flower blooming into full vibrant color,
the ocean replenishing itself after a rain.
Tall trees swaying rhythmically,
never faltering, or displaying pain.

Majestic mountains with hidden treasures,
dirt and rock trails never walked before.
Filled with an abundance of life and sounds,
rustling leaves so innocent and pure.

A stream, a river, a bubbling rivulet,
slowly changing, rearranging all we see.
Places where time almost stands still,
how simple life was meant to be.

A deer and her fawn, a buck watching over,
a bear and her cubs cuddling in a den.
A horse and her fold, a cow and her calf,
a couple and children playing in a glen.

This magnificent, well structured garden we see,
out of unconditional love was given to all.
From the air we breathe to water we drink,
the life sustaining force will one day fall.

This beautiful, pristine garden we enjoy,
is a bountiful fortune filled with wealth.
A personal treasure for each to relish,
also to nurture, respect, care for with stealth.

Life is a gift on loan from God,
to enliven our spirits each and every day.
To enjoy the bounty laid before,
sharing with all as we go on our way.

there is no thing that exists which is not a gift from God -- He is the creator of all things -- to set the mind right, we must learn to enjoy every moment and everything living and not, as His gifts -- how easy it is to search too hard for what is so obviously already there -- peace and love my dear friend -- Jon Michael

Poetic expressions of an eternal dance choreographed by seraphic instructors to stage life. "Enjoy the bounty..." may all that want harmony and peace do.

Thank you for sharing "Enjoy the bounty..." --and for leading the way to fraternity and peace.

Lovely, lovely poem, Karen. I'm not one who often prays however, sometimes, early in the morning when I'm out with Kody the grass looks as green velvet and the sky so beautiful I must think that there must be ... an entity that is able to create such peaceful beauty. Your poem kind of says it all.

If life is a gift on loan from God, I will say that I have been paying a little bit of a hight rent! LOL
I don't know about a gift, to me it seems He creating a bunch of us for the solely reason to find a good chess player which wouldn't accuse Him of cheating as I do! LOL
Sorry for the irreverence, couldn't help it.

Oh Karen, this is like a soothing melody of harps with lyrics being sung by God's own sweet Angels. Instead of all the negative things going on in the world you find a way to show us, yes we can do more to help but we can also find such beauty around us. As always very lovely poetry and your pure heart always shines through.
