Poem Artwork

Our tongues meet in a tango
Our bodies making the connection
That brings pulsation to perfection
Soon afterward you leave, as needs be

As I lie indolent I wonder about
The fleeing mirage of time
I know it is esoteric at best
That an enigma will remain
In my hidden domain

I go out onto the balcony, the night
Covers me like a tarpaulin of stars
I become oriented to the pale moon
I drank too much wine and I'm maudlin
Standing here alone humming a blue tune
Trying to overcome the illusion of not being alone

I try to recapture the passion I felt earlier
The  caress of cosmic breezes chill me
My mind grasps only what it wants to forget
Back in the bedroom so beautifully arrayed
In lavender silks and satins, much greenery
And floral arrangements to please the senses

I decide that after my shower I'll go have some fun

A little too esoteric for me, but it is well written. Have to agree with Sherry....been there, done that....ain't proud of it but that's the way things happen.

I hate the "ring and run" types who up and leave after they have gotten what they came for, but sometiems their ways whet the appetite for an evening of even more excitement. Too bad for him that he didn't stay, it probably would have been well worth his while. Been there, done that and will probably repeat it again...sigh... Excellent poem, Eileen.
Take care,
Sherry

A hauntingly lonely poem, written in your usual eloquent way. The last line really makes me sad, thinking back on times when my "fun" was drunk and distorted. Amazingly powerful poem, Eileen.
