Dedicated to our Spirit man Ed Kostro
This is fiction,the picture Ed posted
with his poem inspired me to write it-)

I saw in her eyes the mother
I used to be...she is just like me

An unknown man of the spirit clan
assists the animals whenever he can
so it was that he gave care
to Zinda the female polar bear
she had two babies to feed 
a lack of resources for her need

For most people animals plight
is not a prioity, and those
concerned are in the minority
spirit man had a plan to save
Zinda and her cubs from man
who would  put her in a zoo
instead of helping her make do

Zinda was used to spirit mans scent
though he had  never gotten close to her
if he could get her to follow him he could
lead her to the better area he had in mind
it was risky but so was leaving her behind
he had a friend distract Zinda while he
grabbed her cubs, put them in his jeep 

slowly headed for the new site, and she ran
after them faster than he'd ever seen her run
his friend had hidden his own transportation
Spirit man got to the place he'd chosen for her
and let the cubs out of the jeep, just minutes
before Zinda got there, she almost rammed the  jeep, but her cubs were hungry,she let them feed

Spirit man prayed it would end sucessfully
when mothers are raising cubs they usually
stay in one place, and the hope was Zinda
would see there were much more provisions
and to remain would be a wise decision
spirit man moved farther away where he
 watched, but could get away if necessary
several days later he took a picture of them
Zinda's eyes told him all he needed to know
