Sadly true. We always have our eyes on the goal, not stopping to think of the consequences of our actions. Einstein himself had reservations. But those in their greed for power paid no heed. I do think that Nature can renew herself if we do choose not "to spurn the simple life" and return to our roots. I remember a monologue by George Carlin about the environment saying that earth will "shake us off like a bad virus". Hopefully we'll come to our senses before we destroy ourselves, for we're the ones in danger of extinction. She and the Creator have the ultimate dominion. This is a voice in the wilderness from one who loves both. Ty, Eileen...

A very sad but certainly truthful commentary on how we have ruined this once pristine planet. I don't know if it is able to be undone, certainly not in the short run. I hope we will see the light and find ways to live well and still preserve the planet.

How Creator came to be: He was, He is, He ever will be. :)

As for what we've done to His Universe, if I were Him (thank God I'm not!!), I'd be seriously angry. I wouldn't be so merciful.

GREED is what boils in man. It causes war, blight and desease and man is the most gullible machine on earth when his sensitivity is pure apathy. We need more awareness poems like yours.
