Poem Artwork

The night wore a gray gown
Like antebellum puff of gauze
The world had become neutered

I yearned for a real man
But they too were all gone
gone with the winds of war

Left are the feminista rejects
Too spineless for my tastes
Everything is so  mediocre

No more romance just quick sex
Bland seems to be the new fad
Oh yeah they talk a good game

But it's only words, words words
Concepts spoken of and imagined
Which never see the light of day

Whatever happened to true passion
Where are the legitimate lovers hiding
Besides in the virtual pens of poets

As the film says..." There is only a few good men left "....
Or as my sister used to lament, " All the good men are snapped up and married ! "....Lols

Whatever happened to true passion

I think it's Gone with the Wind - as so many other things seem to be these days.

Dearest Eileen, here is a masterful example of how conceptual colourlessness can in fact depict the most vivid and rich array of subliminal colours - those of the passion implicit in this excellent poem. I love the art, too!

Eileen,

Please. When you find out, let me know! I see Susan is in line, I'm next! I'm next! LOL

And...sex???? What's that? Been so long, the details are kinda fuzzy.

A heartfelt, longing write--very well penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Sex? You sure said a mouthful here. Without the dutiful pen of a poet...passion would be a failed detail these days. What a shame.Ttell you what! When you find a man that isn't missing passion...pray he has a brother for moi!
