Poem Artwork

I feel your breath across time and space
Brush over me like a soft curtain of lace
It goes wafting by like a  zephyr breeze
An ethereal moment that does so please
I try to grasp and bring it to my breast
But sadly it will not become my guest

I can see your eyes gaze into me
They burn through mine with intensity
A message reaches down into my soul
Your longing the same but can't be told
We are locked in a kind of ghostly embrace
Close enough to meet each other face to face

Yet the yearning that is strong between us
Will not be realized nor can we discuss
Some kind of spectral  barrier blocks the way
It cannot be breached  to our utter dismay
We were together for many eons in the past
Somehow we can't unite now, to make it last

.. I don't know what's with me this evening... I seem to be reading all the poems from the opposite end of the telescope... The barrier effect seems to play on most people's mind here, but for me it is the shadowy nature of the personal psyche, that idea that sometimes the knowledge of ourselves can be so flimsy we are not half sure that WE'RE not actually a spectre ourselves, and one which might attach itself to any other life that appears to be more "concrete" in order to prevent ourselves from flying away... ~ Either that, or we are what is "solid" and the rest of existential existance merely a figment of our imagination. Sorry, a real slippery tangent, I know, but your thought processes are always well-sustained and brought to full fruition in your poetry and this is no exception. Bless you... and good to see you are still totally together after your recent move. Health and much happiness in your new home. LOL K xx

Ah, a reminder of my little Momma, who I "lost" this past summer. 'Tho I love her still, and have our memories, especially since I have her in her five "babies".

This is truly haunting, reminding us that the sharing of love could be so fleeting. Beautiful, Eileen.

some barriers are temporary, some are self-imposed, some are simply transforming thoughts and emotions ... whatever they may be you've expressed your thoughts and feelings with style and grace ...

Haunting, this is sad, a love unrequited. You've written it beautifully Eileen and captured the moment.
