Poem Artwork

It's a golden sunny day
full of happiness
but there's also a blue note
of sadness
my love and I are doing
just grand
though the world is hard
to understand
there is the mottled grey
of confusion
midst the purple haze of
illusion
there is the lapis lazuli of
lovers dreams
against the sable color of
evil schemes
soon the grim of crimson
on the ground
will bleed  among the  purest
pearl souls found
the orange glow of bombs
away
will meet the dismal darkness
of the day
soon the beautiful indigo of
night
will be hidden by smoke that
blinds the sight
what brings us to this granite
hour
that destroys the lovely green
of flower
pray  man will put away the red
of rage
or is  the brown of Earth in its
final stage~

A bountiful world is full of color. Oppression turns it drab. Well said.

Oh dear,I think that very last part of the poem might be a fact (unfortunately) but I am praying that humans can stop all that 'red rage' and enjoy this beautiful world. You are part of the beauty..as always, you touch your readers with excellent poetry and wisdom.
Best wishes always to you and yours

Pharaoh's lapis lazuli, night's indigo and rage's red, that's not only the colors of life but the rainbow face of your inspiration.

Bravo. January, 2009 cann't come soon enough, and I'm not sure that you may be right. All for what? The powers to be just won't leave Iran alone, no matter what. And where will that lead us. Your beautiful imagery is brilliant. Liz

the collective mood of our planet indeed seems grim and its cycle of motion is definitley self-serving yet is still more inspired and evolved that it has ever been ... hopefully earth is in a new beginning where the outcome is in the hands of the enlightened ...

I admire your words here although it paints a dismal scene. I love colors and, between the two of us, we create a great balance.

Susan

Well said ET. I think you've hit the nail smack dab on the head with this one. Sadly, I do believe earth is in its final stage. At least as we know it. God bless.

This poem elicits many colors of emotion, and ends with a note of sadness - unless we choose to change our path's direction. The picture is equally intriguing. Awesome.

God bless you. Kathy

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
