just a change of pace;-)

Poem Artwork

In deepest night of soul
there is little left whole
schism in every part
shatters the heart

There is a lantern
but no light burns
there is a mind
vacant and blind

Glimpse of heaven lost
visions of hell cost
naught soothes the beast
left with the least

phoney metaphors
like pseudo whores
those you can toss
with the other dross

cast away the doubt
with summers drought
woeful winter fears
soon will appear

cause and effect
hard to detect
when only bitter
is left in the litter

no one will attest
did what is best
for lethal decisions
have no visions

This much I confess
it is esoteric at best
the  remants will remain
in my hidden domain

etw~

Eileen, the rhyme, the verse...perfection.

this has a unique flow reminiscent to somali style of writing poetry. Quadruplets. GBQ

esoteric or not, there is comprehension and great wisdom shared in your lines -- though you say they are in your domain, and will remain hidden -- Eileen your depth is amazing -- this was not the product of one who dwells in the domain of shallow thinking -- peace and love to you my friend -- JMW

Truly sounds like our modern world to me, and I hope the light returns soon.

I agree with others reviewers, this one is different of you daily and tranquile poetry which is more of rose petals and delicate porcelaine than this one with a hint of sad bitterness, but the all, made a strange flower with its own beauty.

this strophe is the heart of this poem and it definitely beats to the change of a pace maker ...

Dear Eileen, It has been a long time since I last visited your den. I apoligize for this. Your poem is very alarming for a friend and you know how much we care for you. Let me send you a speedy ray of light with the hope that it will brighten the hidden domain. Love Emile

Wisdom and thoughts held close and deeply envisioned within your mind, perhaps one day they will burst into a rainbow of purity. Hope you are doing well....

Eileen, this rhyming is fantastic and the visuals are great. "No" one knows what lies in the minds of another...this causes this reader to want to dwell on the "hidden domain" and hear more. Very enjoyable.
