Poem Artwork

Now with the purple of night descending
Thoughts of you forcfully strike my mind
Doors of doubt deny memories ending
Of delightful days when life was divine
Like lavender orchids and turtle doves
That wakened our mornings bodies in tune
Tempestuous coupling ,dawns early love
That gladly kept us in flight until noon
See the green lawns now bereft of flowers
Where crimson roses did fragrantly bloom
Come all you gods of misjudgement, slay me
For you have already gained my bedroom

Elephant bones in the land of the dead
Keep making sounds in the tomb of my head

Eileen,
I love every word and line, especially the final couplet, and the images are quite striking.

So deeply profound, almost mystically haunting as visions appear, then disappear...

I knew there was something wrong with you, elephant bones inside your head? and we that believed them was thoughts and ideas, it will teach us not to have so much hope for the members of this family! LOL
