As the sunflower
To the sun,
Like the honeybee
To its hive,
So I am
To you;
Like the perfume
On the rose,
As the melody
To a song,
So you are
To me.
I bless the day we met,
And every day since,
For never have I known
The contentment,
The utter joy,
That comes from
Loving, and being loved
By you.
Selfishly, I pray the day
Will never come
When I will once again
Know life without you,
But should that day come
Then I pray the memory
Of our love
Will sustain me
Through however many lifetimes
It takes to find you
Again.
