She stares out upon
The gloaming of the day,
Physical eyes blind
As her spirit turns inward,
Searching,
Seeking she knows not what
With a need stronger
Than hunger,
A calling heard
But not understood.
What is it that
Draws her?
What is it that
Promises
An unknown something?
Something vital
And profound-
Necessary,
Something beyond
Church teachings,
Something demanding more
Than mere comprehension.
It feels maddeningly near,
Dancing just beyond
Her imagination,
Cloaked elusively
In mystery.
Perhaps if she
Continues to wait patiently
With eyes turned
Inward
It will one day appear
And answer all
Her questions.
