A monster has invaded
My space.
It’s made up
Of cells,
Many invisible to
The naked eye,
While others
Have joined
To create lesions
And nodules
Of cancer.
So now I stand
Before the beast
Ready to do battle
For the second time.
The first time
Was easy,
No side effects
To speak of,
Because it was
Barely awake.
This time, however,
It is aggressive
And on the attack,
