So, into the mountains we go, to heal our minds and nourish our souls. For Michele. Image: MEC

Poem Artwork
I
Eastward we are drawn along the unknown paths.
Mountains, recumbent in wordless sighs, capitulate
under heavens felicity…
.
II
We felt compelled to sing today
And hike with hope unending
To know the joy that
Loving brings
We felt inspired
to shout and sing
In mountains high
or valleys low
With beating hearts
and thoughts aglow
We felt compelled to sing today
And hike with hope unending
.
III
I invite You into this storm
With no regret or fear
Show me what I need to know
And how Your Spirit is near
Boost me in my inner man
With courage from on high
Show me what my purpose is
And with Your love apply
.
IV
There’re times I pray for wisdoms wealth
There’re times I fight in vain
There’re times that I’m consumed with self
There’re times I grieve in pain
There’re times my mind works hopefully
There’re times I battle fearlessly
And they’re times I pray despairingly
For all the things that’ve died in me…
.
V
Some [once] vibrant Poets
Don’t write anymore
Despite how they wish to
They can’t find the door
That opens new seasons
And offers fresh reasons
To share what comes through them
With words that restore…
.
VI
Soaring effortlessly, 8 Hawks drift by above us. In
fluid symmetry, percipient above ageless granite crags,
they loop and meander gracefully on invisible winds…
.
VII
When that last door opens,
and you’re halfway through,
how much of your work
will you still cling to…
Since words
are like seeds,
be careful what you say,
you might have to eat what
you’ve sown someday
.
VIII
In hopefulness we will succeed
Well past all limitations
As we pursue our holy creed
In hopefulness we will succeed
And if by chance we must concede
Our failures on occasion
In hopefulness we will succeed
Well past all limitations…
.
IX
There’re times I pray for wisdoms wealth
There’re times my heart complains
There’re times that I’m consumed with self
There’re times I search in vain
There’re times my mind works zealously
There’re times I battle stoically
But when I pray unceasingly
My God revives what’s died in me….

WOW!!! WHAT A FINE EXPOSURE OF THE HEART/SOUL YOU HAVE GIVEN US. BUT, OF COURSE, I KNOW THERE IS SO MUCH MORE OF THIS BARD THAT WE WILL NEVER MEET. HOWEVER, I AM VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS SHARING WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE TOUCHED NATURE AND HEARING ITS VOICE...COULD NOT CONTAIN THE JOY OF IT AS YOU 'SANG' TOGETHER! A BEAUTIFUL WORK, THANK YOU. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

What a wonderful poem, of faith, God and the mountains where we feel close to Him. I love this poem, Richard, it came from your soul.

They're times like this for all old poets and souls, when we contemplate failure or success regarding our goals. Beautifully expressed from the clarity of being out in nature in all its glory and savage reality. So peaceful as hawks gliding on the thermals unseen yet in their deadly quest for another meal coming by air or from a tiny flash of fur on the ground far below. Too man poets that I briefly corresponded with here have left that door open because they could no longer even close it.

You are right about the Internet keeping what we write or say nearly forever. I love your photograph but am trying to figure out what you are doing with your hands. I don't see a camera in them.

Richard,

this is a beautiful breath of fresh air , deep, raw and honest before all creation and heavens. I so deeply get your insight. I pray to go deeper in discernment like never before...It is a time that is most difficult because God calls us to be watchman and then there is the price for how people react ( some of my loved ones cut me out of their lives saying I'm nuts or religious ) and some receive and some don't which makes me sad at times but I know prayer for others has more power than the physical realm ~~
I often feel like the last 3 years globally has been a bad psychotic dream, battering ferocious mental and psychical hurricanes, constant psychological dark storm from people I thought I could TRUST in which nothing makes sense, and everyone seems sad or angry and WE can NEVER ALLOW that kind of tyranny AGAIN to our liberty and self esteem..It is a time we are asking who we are in every way like never before!!!!!!!........
It is a time of travail and shaking and great faith being born, THANK God ~~~..
I have asked millions of times why I was placed here at " this " time on earth . Then He reveals more and more through prayer time...In order for me to have the greatest peace I must be like the woman in faith giving her last meal to Elijah but trusting anyway.......Sometimes I just rebel and feel I don't want to be called different than most because it has been profoundly painful...... But He knew my destiny millions of years ago who I would be and for my own purpose, as it says in scripture He knew me before I was formed in my mothers womb....Jeremiah 1:5
And He isn't sadistic with our chosen path He assigns us into, no matter how painful. And He reveals everything backward, present and forward to those with spiritual eyes and hearts because it is with love we know ALL revelations......With that knowing is so profoundly comforting in my hour of anguish sometimes. However His mercy and blessing is so remarkable that it is divine and all the Father of all creation wants is for me to want to draw to Him ~~ Imagine that, He wants me to know Him and for Him to KNOW ME... I wonder and think so profoundly about the heart of mankind and in my prayers I pray humanity would WAKE up and find their spiritual truth and have remorse within for their actions...It is as if they are dead and reprobate, others want the Holy Spirit to fall down like rain and profoundly humble themselves because they are broken and He is near to ALL broken....The fallen world and his followers are so deceptive !!! I have to carry the torch and light the way so others can get set free as He took me out of many dangerous waters..
It is a time where I must seek Holy Spirit with rivers for new wine and it must be that I must go through the new elevations upon spirit level in from the threshing floor of prayer which makes things all new and all in my life and soul will never be the same, ever . This is why I die all the time and are rebirthed with each new fresh winds..
Earth is a breathing spirit of that medicine because everything about her radiates His peace, creation, wonderment, love and gorgeous beauty that fills our souls. Today I saw a beautiful grey herring stork on my pond and I told him he was so welcome there... I must get back to taking long prayer walks with His presents.....All life, let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Thank you for your deep convictions and thoughts that are honest and deserve reflection within... Great photography Michelle ~ God bless you both ~
