Author’s note: Do not ask to know for whom this poem was written.
It is about us, not me; it is about what is possible,
not a secret agenda; and it is for the betterment of humanity, and
not for any narrow purpose. Love has no limits, it is universal,
it permeates every land, every mind, every purpose; or it is nothing.
The Radiance of Love
You are aware of all your surroundings;
you act with an intelligent mind;
you are thoughtful of all you survey;
your understanding is nearly boundless;
you are both intense in your decisions and fearless about them;
you are kind to all you can see;
you care about those less fortunate;
you give until there’s little more to give;
you are open to all of your feelings;
you are compassionate to all in distress;
your are strong and resolute in your actions;
you are tolerant of the shortcomings of others;
you love until your heart bends in sorrow;
and forgive until there’s no more forgiving;
you are your own person in all things important;
you make your own choices with wisdom;
you know your mind’s limitations; yet
you know your heart is boundless;
and you know my mind with understanding;.
And as for me...
I trust and believe in you completely;
and I want you to know this above all
without reservations or conditions--
to the depths of my heart and soul
I will love you today tomorrow and always.
Now that's the kind of non-sappy love that I like. Beautifully and simply stated so that everyone reading can understand. And I sure wish they would read it. But they probably won't because they have too much hatred in their heart to understand that only through love will they find peace in their lives.
This is truly a person of inordinate qualities. A wonderful share, for it says as much about you as the person of focus. For you to acknowledge and address with such clarity and pride, well, I wouldn't expect anything less from the man of eloquent words and thought. Bravo.
