Darkness blankets my room
With a cocoon
Of heightened sensories,
While outside my window
The moon hangs amongst
Innumerable numbers
Of stars,
Of planets,
And glowing bits
Of cosmic flotsam.
Physically, I am alone.
Only my body
Inhabits this bed,
Only my breath
Is heard whispering
Through the silence.
Yet, I know
I am not alone.
You are here
As you always are,
A nimbus of dreams,
Of wishes,
Of certain knowledge
That you do exist
Somewhere,
Somewhen,
Somehow.
